Welcome to the CBBF Website
The CBBF is Canada's only federally recognized governing body for amateur bodybuilding, fitness and body fitness (figure)
competition. This is the only Canadian organization that qualifies competitors for
competition at the three annual IFBB World Championships, and the only one that awards competitors an IFBB Pro
Card. Participating in CBBF events means you are able to compete with the best athletes in Canada who qualify
through stringent tiered systems in their host provinces and are judged by qualified provincial and national judges. Only
those competitions that appear on our Events listing listing under each of the sections are sanctioned
by the CBBF. Please contact us at info@cbbf.ca if you have any questions.
The IFBB is the international federation for bodybuilding, fitness and body fitness. The IFBB has more
than 170 member countries and is recognized worldwide. For more on the IFBB, please visit

Additional IFBB Professional League Card
The CBBF is very excited to announce that an additional IFBB Professional League card will be provided at the 2010 CBBF Natural Physique Championships, being held in Laval, QC and promoted by our good friend Joe Spinello.
At our 2009 AGM it was unanimously passed that an IFBB Pro card be provided to the overall Body Fitness (FIGURE) champion and the overall FITNESS champion.
After conversations with the promoter and the CBBF executive the additional IFBB Pro card will be provided to the overall BIKINI champion.
However, it will be up to the provincial associations to determine whether the bikini athletes may enter this event, as some do have qualifying events for bikini athletes.
The bikini division, as of yet, is not an IFBB Amateur Worlds category, so this division is being added to the Natural Physique Championships to provide the opportunity for athletes who are entering this sport to participate for an IFBB Pro card.
More information will be provided to our website in the near future.

Important 2009 Competition Items
Dear Athletes,
We have just added some important items to the Info section worth noting:
- After attending the 2009 Arnold Amateur Classic and from discussions with CBBF executive
members, etc. we will be providing the Bikini Division at the 2009 CBBF Figure and
Fitness Championships, held in New Westminster, BC, on August 15th.
If you would view the following attachment file below (NPC Bikini Rules),
you will see the NPC rules for Bikini, we shall follow these rules, as this sport is
in its infancy and will provide more data as it becomes available.
[ NPC Bikini Rules ]
As this is the first Bikini event we will provide only two classes, such as the Arnold Amateur Classic.
In 2010 we will institute 4 classes.
This year the classes will be:
- Up to and including 162.6cm (5'4")
- Over 162.6 cm (Over 5'4")
ie. [2009 CBBF Bikini Rules]
Note: For the 2009 North American Bodybuilding Championships, the CBBF
will allow any CBBF athlete to compete in the BIKINI event. Please
read the above-mentioned 2009 NPC Bikini Rules for more details. It may
also be worthwhile checking out the 2009 North American Bodybuilding Championships
section on the promoter's site - www.garyudit.com.
- The following letter shall be provided to any CBBF member who is acting a role of competing, judging, assisting and or working with none recognized organizations of the CBBF and/or IFBB.
The IFBB/CBBF has been in existence for over 60 years as an amateur federation, with representation over 180 countries, with proper standards for judging, competitions and qualifications to IFBB International Amateur events as well as the IFBB Professional League.
The individuals who will receive the letter are involved outside of the CBBF in events which provide cash or cash prizes, this is against the policy of the IFBB.

International Competition Qualification Standards
IFBB Amateur World Championships/Euro Elite Tour/other IFBB International events
CBBF athletes must compete yearly at the CBBF National World Qualifier for selection to Team Canada for the right to compete at the annual IFBB World Championships.
If you compete in 2008 you may achieve a position on the 2008 Team Canada.
Presently there are four IFBB World Championships, with spots for only limited
athletes to compete, winners from the one of the top three placings at the CBBF
National World Qualifier may be selected by the CBBF Selection Committee.
If athletes do not compete in classes available this opens positions
in other classes, normally a country is able to provide only one
athlete per class, however if athletes decline the opportunity to
compete or if no athletes compete this opens another position, for
a class which has an athlete already agreeing to compete at the IFBB Worlds.
IFBB Amateur North American Championships
The top-5 positions from the two-years previous to the North Americans qualify for competition in this event.
This event is open to bikini, bodybuilders, figure and fitness athletes only.
The Arnold Sports Festival Arnold Amateur IFBB
